Armtec Countermeasures and Kilgore Flares have won positions on a potential $90M contract to supply magnesium-based countermeasure flares to the U.S. Air Force and undisclosed foreign military sales customers.
The two companies will deliver MJU-53/B infrared countermeasure flares to Air Mobility Command for use aboard the C-5 and C-17 aircraft, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The Air Force received two offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and will obligate $3K in fiscal 2018 procurement funds at the time of award.
Work will occur in Toone, Tenn., and Camden, Ark., through July 2023.
