Infrastructure and technical services company Arkel International has moved to expand its presence in the international construction market with the acquisition of San Juan Construction’s business line in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
John Moore, CEO of Arkel International, said in a statement the transaction will enable the company to advance its growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The acquisition represents an opportunity to increase our portfolio of providing global construction services in geographically challenging locations,” added Moore.
Established in 1989, San Juan Construction has construction projects on Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands and at Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory. The Montrose, Colorado-based firm also has an office in Manila, Philippines.
Law firm Bass, Berry & Sims acted as lead adviser to Arkel, which completed the acquisition on Sept. 22.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Arkel International has been providing infrastructure, construction, power systems and life support services for governments, militaries and other organizations operating in remote locations for nearly seven decades.
