The Air Force Research Laboratory has issued an eight-year broad agency announcement seeking potential industry sources that could support research in space and environmental impacts technologies.
The Space Environment Technologies and Science BAA is interested in capabilities that could help quantify the impact of the space environment on Department of Defense and national security systems, according to a solicitation notice published Monday.
The SETS program has an anticipated total funding of $98.5 million and has five technical areas: solar, solar wind and ionospheric effects; thermosphere, satellite drag and the reentry environment; plasma physics and chemistry; particle effects and radiation belt environment; and cislunar environment.
AFRL anticipates awarding a minimum of one contract per individual call for proposals and will determine the performance period for each contract award based on requirements.
According to the BAA, software, hardware or data will be identified at the call level.
