Antenna Research Associates has acquired military communications and signal management systems builder SI2 Technologies to create a technology innovation center that will serve defense customers.
North Billerica, Massachusetts-based S12 will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of ARA and the two entities will collaborate across various business operations within the U.S. and Europe, ARA said Tuesday.
Joseph Kunze, former CEO of SI2 Technologies, will become chief technology officer of the parent organization and general manager of the acquired business.
Logen Thiran, president and CEO of ARA, said the combination of the two companies’ manufacturing and product development services will aim to bring communications platforms to the domestic C5ISR market.
Kunze noted that SI2 plans to apply the intellectual property it has developed for almost two decades to help ARA innovate products and subsystems.
