Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy is on a mission to ensure a strong market presence for the cloud computing company through expansion of its technology service offerings and partner ecosystem, CRN reported Tuesday.
He told CRN in an interview that AWS seeks to create partnership opportunities with Outposts, a managed compute and storage infrastructure for customers that want to migrate workloads to the cloud.
Outposts will work to support independent software vendors and software-as-a-service providers as a transitional offering for cloud migration projects, according to Jassy.
He added that system integrators looking to AWS technology to expand business operations should observe such cloud tranisition initiatives in the government and enterprise sectors.
Building a practice around modernization and mass migration is a giant opportunity, Jassy told the publication.
The report noted that AWS is eyeing database technology, edge computing, internet of things, analytics and machine learning as potential areas of focus in the coming years.
More than 1,400 ISVs offer approximately 5,200 third-party software products through the AWS Marketplace, the report added.
