Andrew Ivers, a veteran defense and communications electronics industry leader, will assume the role of CEO of Communications & Power Industries and its parent company, CPI International, by the end of May.
He will succeed Bob Fickett, who will transition to the position of executive chairman of CPI’s board of directors and serve as a strategic adviser to the company, CPI said Thursday.
Ivers has helped integrate recent acquisitions and supported operational excellence efforts as president and chief operating officer of CPI.
He joined CPI in 2019 after a nearly two-decade career at L3 Technologies, where he served as president of communications systems business segment and as a corporate senior vice president. He also held management positions at Harris and Raytheon.
Fickett has been serving as chief executive of CPI since 2017. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its portfolio of product offerings through several acquisitions and now operates with over 2,000 employees and about $770 million in sales.
