Burchett also held the position of medical information officer and then chief medical information officer at Avera Health, an integrated health system in Sioux Falls in South Dakota earlier in his career.
The executive has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He specializes in hospice and palliative medicine and has been a physician at the Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center for nearly two decades, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Iowa and a doctorate in osteopathy from the Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences.
