Ametek (NYSE: AME) has purchased radio frequency and microwave test equipment supplier NSI-MI Technologies for approximately $230 million in a move to expand measurement and testing products.
Suwanee, Georgia-based NSI-MI offers a portfolio of instruments designed to check the performance of defense, aerospace, wireless communications, research and automotive systems, Ametek said Tuesday.
David Zapico, chairman and CEO at Ametek, said the deal complements the company’s business segment focused on electromagnetic compatibility testing and measurement.
NSI-MI generates an estimated annual sales of $90 million and will operate under Ametek’s electronic instruments group.
Ametek announced the acquisition nearly one week after the completion of its $1.35 billion cash purchase of Abaco Systems, an embedded computing systems provider to the aerospace and defense sectors.
