American Institutes for Research Buys Kimetrica; David Myers Quoted

The American Institutes for Research has acquired consulting firm Kimetrica for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand research and evaluation work in nutrition, food security and other areas.

“This acquisition will allow us to better provide a full range of services to international clients – from identifying and quantifying problems through rigorous research and evaluation, to working with governments and other organizations to develop, implement and test solutions that address those challenges and create a better, more equitable world,” David Myers, president and CEO of AIR, said in a statement published Tuesday.

Established in 2006, Kimetrica is headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, and operates with 70 employees focused on providing research, evaluation, modeling and simulation, survey and information management support services for government agencies and non-profit organizations worldwide using machine learning, analytics and other technologies. Its clients include the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development, United Nations, UNICEF and the World Bank.

The transaction came six months after AIR acquired international research services provider IMPAQ.

Arlington, Virginia-based AIR is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1946 and works with government agencies and other organizations to perform social science and behavioral research and provide technical support in health, education and workforce development areas.
