TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 14, 2016 Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) has partnered with the Commerce Department to host an event in Seattle that works to challenge software developers to build voice recognition systems that utilize open data, Executive Gov reported Thursday.
Justin Antonipillai, counselor to Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, wrote in a blog post published Sept. 26 that the Alexa Skills Open Data Challenge held from Oct. 7 to 8 focused on using Commerce’s open datasets and Amazon’s Alexa voice service to “democratize” access to information and perform tasks across several fields of application.
