The U.S. Army has awarded AM General a potential $527.4 million contract to manufacture contact maintenance trucks for the service branch and foreign military sales customers.
Army Contracting Command issued the award on a sole-source basis and expects the company to finish work by March 9, 2028, the Department of Defense said Friday.
According to solicitation documents released in 2021, the branch could procure approximately 1,375 M1152A1B2 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle Next Generation Lightweight Shop Equipment CMTs.
AM General is the original manufacturer of the Humvee, a family of four-wheeled tactical vehicles that supports the Army’s combat and combat service support units.
The Humvee technical data package held by the government does not include contractor proprietary data on the platform’s automotive improvement and updated armor packages, air conditioning system and reliability enhancement vehicle components. according to the notice posted on SAM.gov.
