AM General has received a potential $2.21 billion contract from the U.S. Army to produce up to 11,560 High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday the company will deliver expanded capacity Humvees along with associated equipment and spare parts packages to foreign military sales customers.
The Army Contracting Command solicited and received one bid for the firm-fixed-price contract.
DoD said the first order of Humvees is for Afghanistan and the department expects AM General to finish contract work by Feb. 28, 2023.
