Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) has named Allen Thompson, formerly an executive director atRaytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), vice president of U.S. government relations to oversee the chipmaker's state and federal communications initiatives.
He has led government relations for Raytheon Technologies' commercial aerospace and space segments and former United Technologies Corp. subsidiaries Carrier and Otis Elevator, Intel said Tuesday.
Thomson previously held leadersip roles at Mehlman, Castagnetti, Rosen & Thomas, the Retail Industry Leaders Association and the Technology CEO Council.
Jeff Rittener, chief government officer at Intel, said Thompson brings program leadership experience in the global trade, supply chain, artificial intelligence, 5G and autonomous technology areas as the company seeks to help shape the future of technology through participation in critical policy debates.
Thompson also worked as a senior professional staff member at the U.S. House of Representatives and spent five years at the U.S. Coast Guard.
