Akima Subsidiary Wins $385M USAF Transport Aircraft Logistics Support IDIQ

An Akima subsidiary has won a potential $385M contract to provide logistics services for C-21 transport aircraft at multiple U.S. Air Force facilities across the globe.

Akima Logistics Services will help the military branch maintain its airlifter platform, apply modifications, manage related programs and support deployments under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Five offers were submitted to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center for the IDIQ via a competitive acquisition process.

ALS will perform work at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Scott AF Base in Illinois, Ramstein Air Base in Germany and other locations outside the U.S. depending on mission requirements.

USAF is obligating $1.9M on the initial task order. The Pentagon expects all contract services to be complete by Aug. 31, 2030.

According to the service, C-21 is the military version of Bombardier’s Learjet 35A business jet and can transport up to five ambulatory patients during aeromedical evacuation missions.
