Boeing (NYSE: BA) has appointed retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gens. Samuel Cox, Samuel Greaves and Steven Shepro to new leadership positions within the defense and space business, GovCon Wire has learned.
Cox, former commander of 18th Air Force, will serve as vice president of Air Force systems in Boeing’s government operations office in Arlington, Va., and succeeds Charles Johnson, who is due to step down after a decade-long career at the company.
The USAF veteran previously managed 39K airmen and more than 1K aircraft used to support global air mobility, aerial refueling, airlift and aeromedical evacuation missions. He also held positions at the 436th Airlift Wing and U.S. Transportation Command.
Samuel Greaves
Greaves, former director of the Missile Defense Agency and a 2018 Wash100 awardee, will be VP and chief architect of space and launch. He will work at Boeing’s Fairfax office and lead engineering quality initiatives across its space portfolio.
As MDA chief, he supervised over 9K agency personnel and advised Department of Defense officials on missile defense matters. He also worked for the National Reconnaissance Office, Air Force Space Command and the Space and Missile Systems Center.
Steven Shepro
Shepro will be VP of strike, surveillance and mobility programs under Boeing’s global sales and marketing department. He will manage sales operations for commercial, fighter, surveillance and mobility aircraft offerings, as well as special mission platforms and the T-7A Red Hawk trainer system.
He retired as deputy chairman of the NATO Military Committee in September after a 35-year USAF career.
