TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 20, 2017 The U.S. Air Force has developed an updated communications device to connect ground forces and aircrew of the General Atomics-built MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle during counterterrorism operations, ExecutiveGov reported Monday.
The service branch said Thursday the “Frankenphone” features self-contained electronics and other updates for durability and sound quality and is currently in use with the 42nd Attack Squadron alongside the Audio Multi Level System for persistent attack and reconnaissance missions.
