Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has received a $76.1 million contract option to continue the production of Miniature Air Launched Decoy Jammer flight vehicles and support equipment for the U.S. Air Force.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the exercised option covers lot 10 of MALD-J vehicles and Raytheon’s missile systems business will perform work in Tucson, Arizona through June 30, 2020.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will use the service branch’s fiscal 2016 and 2017 procurement and operations and maintenance funds to pay for contract work.
MALD-J is the jammer variant of the basic Miniature Air Launched Decoy and designed to integrate with other electronic warfare platforms to intercept and deceive enemies’ integrated air defense systems.
