His appointment is effective Feb. 3 and he will succeed Alison Medbery, who will retire from Ball Aerospace after a 27-year career, the company said Friday.
Fitzgerald will lead financial planning, analysis and guidance efforts and recommend measures to help the company manage profitability in the long term.
His career has taken him to companies such as the legacy Raytheon company and McKinsey & Co. At Raytheon, he started as a principal financial analyst and eventually became finance manager of the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment and Space Support Contract.
While at SAIC, he oversaw financial operations of the company’s approximately $3 billion NSS portfolio focused on the defense and intelligence communities.
