Military aviation aftermarket distributor Aero Precision has purchased El Segundo, Calif.-based defense aircraft sustainment services provider Kellstrom Defense for an undisclosed sum.
“Through this acquisition, Aero Precision creates one of the largest privately owned military aftermarket distribution businesses in the industry including repair and overhaul, manufacturing, engineering services, and logistics management,” Darryl Mayhorn, president and CEO of Aero Precision, said in a statement published Monday.
Kellstrom Defense provides original equipment manufacturer strategic distribution, logistics support, engineered products and component repair services for military fighters, transporters and rotary-wing aircraft. It has operating locations in the U.S. and abroad, including the U.K., Australia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
The transaction will also provide Livermore, Calif.-based Aero Precision access to additional OEM partnerships and legacy military planes, including F-5, P3 and B707.
