An industry team led by AECOM (NYSE: ACM) received a $750M contract extension to continue liquid waste management efforts at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
AECOM said Tuesday that Savannah River Remediation will operate saltstone production and defense waste processing facilities as part of the extended contract.
The consortium — which includes Bechtel, BWX Technologies and CH2M — will also resume construction work on Saltstone Disposal Unit 7 as well as demonstration and building activities for tank closure cesium removal operations.

Performance of work extension began April 1 and will continue through Sept. 30, 2020.
The company posted the contract value under its fiscal 2019 second quarter backlog.
