Accenture’s (NYSE: ACN) federal arm will compete for task orders to perform rapid prototyping and research and development for the U.S. Air Force through its position on a potential 10-year, $900 million contract for digital engineering support services.
Accenture Federal Services will work to deliver such services in support of the military branch’s Base Defense System designed to help counter threats posed by adversaries’ hypersonic missiles and small unmanned systems, the parent company said Thursday.
AFS will support the contract by bringing its experience developing synthetic environments through virtual reality and its two digital engineering platforms – Ageon ISR and PICARD – that have been fielded in systems used across the Department of Defense.
Ageon ISR is a mission control and forensic analysis platform that provides actionable intelligence and situational awareness to a set of C5ISR missions. PICARD is a sensor fusion system that moves edge data into cloud process automation and comes with a data pipeline to process and augment data.
Stephen Carlon, a managing director and C4ISR lead at AFS, said the company looks forward to helping the service’s Base Defense System test novel ways of using intelligence data generated by existing cameras and sensors.
“We’re excited to build upon our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Air Force to advance its ability to make highly effective threat mitigation decisions,” added Carlon.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s architectures and integration directorate expects work on task orders awarded through the contract to conclude by 2032.
