A joint venture of AECOM (NYSE: ACM) and Atkins Nuclear Secured will continue to help the Energy Department manage waste storage tanks at the Hanford Site in Richland, Wash., for an additional one year under a $700M contract extension.
Washington River Protection Solutions oversees the treatment and disposal of 56M gallons of radioactive and chemical waste in the site’s 177 underground tanks, AECOM said Tuesday.
Across several key sites, AECOM has established a long history of supporting our DOE clients,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOMs management services group.
“We are committed to building on this strong track record and delivering this contract safely for the Tri Cities in Washington State,” Vollmer added.
