“IT consulting firm Arlo Solutions has appointed Venice Goodwine, former chief information officer at the Department of the Air Force, as CIO and artificial intelligence product owner.

Goodwine’s appointment at Arlo comes as government agencies and contractors continue to expand the use of data and AI to support mission requirements. In this capacity, Goodwine, a two-time Wash100 awardee, will report directly to Arlo Solutions Lonye Ford as she oversees data and AI programs in support of government customers and leads the company’s digital transformation, enterprise technology strategy and product development efforts, Arlo said Tuesday.

“Venice is an experienced and trusted federal technology leader,” Ford said. “Her steady leadership, deep technical knowledge, and commitment to mission success make her a strong addition to our team and to the clients we serve.”

Arlo President and Chief Operating Officer Arlene Wube added that Goodwine’s experience will support the company’s continued growth and client support.

Who Is Venice Goodwine?

Goodwine brings to Arlo more than three decades of IT experience across the federal government, military service and the private sector.

As Air Force CIO, Goodwine oversaw enterprise IT, cybersecurity, data and AI operations across both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Space Force. Her responsibilities included supporting more than 20,000 cyber operations and IT professionals worldwide and managing a $17 billion technology portfolio.

She previously served as chief information security officer at the Department of Agriculture, where she led the establishment of a unified enterprise security environment, consolidated 128 offices into a single security operations center and improved the agency’s Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, or FITARA, cyber score from an F to a B.

The University of Maryland computer and information systems graduate holds an MBA from William Carey College and has completed advanced education in cybersecurity, AI and national security.
