Amphenol Finalizes $1B Acquisition of Trexon

Amphenol has finalized its $1 billion cash acquisition of Trexon from Audax Private Equity, expanding its portfolio of advanced interconnect and cable assembly products across defense and industrial markets.

The company said Trexon will be integrated into Amphenol’s harsh environment solutions segment and is expected to be accretive to earnings within the first year following the transaction.

How Does Trexon Strengthen Amphenol’s Product Capabilities?

Trexon adds a diverse portfolio of high-reliability cable assembly products to Amphenol’s existing range of high-technology interconnect systems. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Trexon develops engineered connectivity tools for applications spanning space, marine and industrial environments.

When Did the Acquisition Start?

In August, Amphenol entered a definitive agreement to acquire Trexon. Trexon is projected to generate 2025 sales of about $290 million with EBITDA margins near 26 percent.

“This sale marks the culmination of significant growth and transformation for Trexon under Audax, including investments in our team and facilities, strategic efforts to focus on our core competencies, and the expansion of our product and capability set organically and through acquisition,” stated Mark Twaalfhoven, CEO of Trexon, in a previous Audax press release. “We’re truly excited to continue our journey of growth as part of the Amphenol family.”
