International Remotely Piloted Aircraft IDIQ Solution Contract Scope
The Department of War said Tuesday the International Remotely Piloted Aircraft IDIQ Solution, or IRIS, is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that involves foreign military sales to India and potential future international customers.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio is obligating $108.3 million in FMS funds for the initial delivery order.
MQ-9 Reaper
MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely piloted aircraft equipped with sensors, a synthetic aperture radar, Predator Primary Satellite Link, ground control station and spare equipment. The system is primarily used as an intelligence-collection asset.
The drone can perform strike, coordination and reconnaissance against high-value and time-sensitive targets using its wide-range sensors, precision weapons and multimode communications suite. Reapers can also support combat search and rescue, target development, route clearance, irregular warfare operations and terminal air guidance missions.
