The Department of Defense said Wednesday the Wisconsin-based company secured a three-year contract extension to continue producing the FMTV A2, including three variants of the Low Velocity Air Drop, or LVAD, tactical vehicle.
The contract modification is expected to run through Feb. 4, 2029. Work sites and funding will be established for each individual order. The Army Contracting Command in Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, received one bid via online solicitation.

Previous Contract
In 2018, Oshkosh received a potential seven-year, $476 million firm-fixed-price requirements contract to manufacture the FMTV A2. Its FMTV A2 design focused on payload, ride quality, mobility, engine power, diagnostics, safety and underbody protection. At the time, the company intended to produce 16 models and related trailers for payloads of up to 10 tons.
