The Department of Defense said Tuesday the modification to the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract covers additional services, including compatibility assessments, engineering models, cost reduction analysis and service life extension analysis. The modified deal also includes software support, correction of software deficiencies and enhancements and flight test supporting follow-on test and evaluation activities. The H-53 helicopters serviced under the contract include those utilized by the Marine Corps, Navy and foreign military sales customers.
Contract work will be done at the Sikorsky facility in Stratford, Connecticut and various sites in the continental U.S. The project is set to conclude in March 2028. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, is responsible for the contracting.
