Private equity firm Sagewind Capital has invested in Aechelon Technology, which provides image generation software and real-time computer graphics systems for training, simulation and visualization for defense and commercial applications.
Sagewind said Monday this marks its eighth platform investment in the government technology sector.
Aechelon CEO Ignacio “Nacho” Sanz-Pastor said Sagewind’s expertise will enable the company to scale its operations and drive growth.
“In today’s environment, the importance of training and readiness is at an all-time high. As the demand for immersive simulation products grows, Aechelon is uniquely positioned to lead the way with its visualization capabilities,” said Raj Kanodia, managing director of Sagewind Capital.
“We are proud to partner with Nacho and his team to support mission-critical military training,” added Kanodia.
Providing Image Generation Tech for Defense Customers
Established in 1998, Aechelon provides image and data generation systems and databases that enable mission rehearsal, sensor exploitation, live-virtual-constructive training and command and control for full-flight aircraft simulators used to train pilots across the Department of Defense.
The San Francisco-based company also provides out-the-window displays, sensor databases and integration services and leverages software, hardware, computer vision and machine learning technologies to develop advanced visual systems.
