He will serve as president and CEO of both EAC and OneWeb Technologies and oversee the integration of the companies’ teams and businesses following the completion of their combination in early 2024, the commercial satellite services provider said Tuesday.
“I look forward to leading a seamless integration of the OWT and EAC teams. It is an exciting time for our industry and the new EAC is poised for great success, leveraging the geosynchronous satellite capabilities of Eutelsat and the low earth orbit satellite capabilities of OneWeb,” Steen said.
Steen brings more than two decades of satellite technology industry experience to his new role. He was named president and CEO of OneWeb Technologies in September 2022, succeeding Bob Roe, who retired after a decade of service.
Before that, he served as CEO of satellite network equipment manufacturer ST Engineering iDirect for five years.
His industry career also includes time as vice president of mergers and acquisitions at SAP Americas and senior director of worldwide business operations at Aspen Technology.
