Bob Hughes, most recently chief customer and strategy officer at UKG, has been appointed president and CEO of Deltek, succeeding Mike Corkery in a leadership move that is set to take effect April 10.
Corkery, who has been at the helm of Deltek for more than a decade, will move to its parent company, Roper Technologies, to serve as a full-time operating group executive, the Herndon, Virginia-based enterprise software provider said Tuesday.
Hughes brings to Deltek his over two decades of experience in enterprise software. The former U.S. Navy submarine officer held leadership roles at software companies Blackbaud and Kronos.
“Bob leads from the front and is relentless in his pursuit of customer value delivery and employee development and engagement. This outstanding leadership and customer experience expertise will be invaluable in guiding Deltek in their continued growth and development,” said Neil Hunn, president and CEO of Roper Technologies.
Corkery will offer coaching and guidance to Deltek and other Roper businesses in his new role.
He joined Deltek in 2010 as chief financial officer and became CEO in 2012. His industry career included time serving as senior financial and operational executive at various technology companies, including Current Group, Nextel Communications, Berliner Communications, XO Communications and AT&T Wireless.
“Focusing 100% of Mike’s time on his operating Group Executive responsibilities is part of our long-term succession planning,” remarked Hunn. “These changes ensure a smooth leadership transition for Deltek while enabling continued strong performance across the business.”
