The U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center intends to issue an indefinite-delivery contract to extend the service life of 149 electro-optical/infrared sensor systems installed on MH-60 and MH-65 helicopters.
Under the upcoming Electro/Optical Infra-Red Sensor System Modernization contract, the Coast Guard aims to upgrade the EO/IR systems with high-definition cameras and the ability to deliver output that meets the SMPTE 292 standard, according to a record posted on the Acquisition Planning Forecast System.
A solicitation is expected to be released by May 1, 2024, although the contract itself will not be competed. An award is expected by the first quarter of fiscal year 2025.
The deal’s estimated value ranges between $50 million to $100 million. The expected completion date is Sept. 30, 2029.
