LightRidge Solutions has purchased Fairfax, Virginia-based space electronics provider Trident Systems for an undisclosed sum to complement mission-critical product offerings intended for the U.S. national security sector.
Trident could offer more sensing and computing platforms as a result of its acquisition to support customers in space domain awareness, laser communications and aircraft operations, LightRidge said Monday.
The deal comes nearly four months after private equity firm ATL Partners announced the formation LightRidge and the appointment of 35-year industry veteran Bill Gattle as the latter’s CEO.
“We are thrilled to join forces with the talented team at Trident to build further scale in our national security space capabilities and to enable high-volume production and delivery under demanding schedule requirements, while continuing to prioritize cutting-edge technology for our customers,” Gattle remarked.
Trident maintains a portfolio of radio-frequency and on-board processors, software-defined radios, data storage and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
