Lockheed, L3Harris, Northrop Secure USAF Funds for Stand-in Attack Weapon Program's Next Phase

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will continue the development of air-to-ground weapon system offerings for a U.S. Air Force program under separate contracts worth nearly $54 million combined.

USAF awarded $18 million each to Lockheed and Northrop and another $17.7 million to L3Harris for phase 1.3 activities of the Stand-in Attack Weapon competition, the Department of Defense said Monday.

All three companies initially won six-month SiAW Phase 1.2 contracts in August 2022 to perform wind tunnel testing, ground testing and other efforts necessary to build an SiAW system.

The branch seeks a system capable of helping warfighters counter surface elements that create the anti-access/area denial environment.
