Mark Kersh, most recently the director of NAVSEA programs within Peraton’s defense solutions sector, has transitioned to a new role as vice president of maritime solutions within the defense mission systems business.
He announced his new VP position at the Reston, Virginia-based national security and technology contractor in a LinkedIn post Tuesday.
In this capacity, the 35-year defense sector veteran will oversee performance, profit and loss and delivery on contracts serving customers under the company’s Navy line of business, which includes Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Research Laboratory.
His work experience covers program management, systems and security engineering in support of the Department of Defense’s mission ground, intelligence and C4ISR systems.
Kersh joined Peraton in 2019 after the company acquired information technology and satellite ground systems provider Solers, where he spent nearly two decades in various roles culminating in his appointment as president and chief operating officer.
He served for more than a decade in the U.S. Army, where he started his career as an intelligence analyst focused on satellite communications and intelligence systems.
