The full-rate production order is the fifth award made under the Army’s Leader Radio Program for the AN/PRC-148D Improved Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radios, the company said Wednesday.
This new award brings the branch’s total order for the IMBITR tactical radio systems to more than 14,000.
IMBITR devices use the Army Warrior Robust Enhanced Network waveform capable of operating in radio frequency-degraded environments.
Thales has deployed 8,400 operational IMBITR radios to the Security Force Assistance Brigade and Infantry Brigade Combat Team and Stryker Brigade Combat Teams.
“Thales is proud to continue as a key contributor to the Army’s Leader Radio Program of Record, and the first to field the WREN-TSM waveform in support of the Integrated Tactical Network,” said Mike Sheehan, CEO of Thales’ defense and security subsidiary.
