Turner Construction has received a potential $236 million contract from the General Services Administration to provide construction expertise to support the modernization of a federal building in New York.
The Silvio V. Mollo Federal Building is a 10-story facility built in 1974 and accommodates the offices of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, GSA said Wednesday.
The federal building modernization project will include several features, including the LEED Platinum certification, rooftop photovoltaics, net-zero carbon certification from the International Living Future Institute and a water reuse system for the cooling tower.
The company is expected to complete the design work on the project by January 2024 under the Construction Manager as Contractor contract with GSA.
