He will continue to serve in his current role while overseeing the Centreville, Virginia-based technology services contractor’s mergers and acquisitions program, strategy and market research initiatives, Parsons said Tuesday.
“Tim is a proven executive and driving force behind our growth and strategy,” said Carey Smith, chairwoman, president and CEO of Parsons.
Smith, a 2022 Wash100 Award winner, added that Schmitt brings to the executive leadership team “his deep understanding of our markets combined with his experience implementing strategies that drive corporate growth.”
Schmitt is responsible for Parsons’ M&A pipeline development, gap analysis and creation and execution of the company’s corporate strategy.
He was senior vice president of corporate development and finance at Polaris Alpha, which Parsons acquired in 2018, and spent nearly 10 years in investment banking advising on M&A transactions involving companies in the defense and national security markets.
