Donny Dorsey Promoted to HII Ingalls Shipbuilding Operations VP

Donny Dorsey, formerly a ship program manager at Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE: HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division, has been appointed to serve as vice president of operations within the same unit.

He will succeed George Jones, who is set to retire on April 1 after 37 years of career with HII, the military shipbuilder said Thursday.

In his new role, Dorsey will be responsible for managing overall manufacturing operations, driving production and process improvement strategies and fostering union partnerships at Ingalls Shipbuilding.

The 22-year shipyard business veteran has managed HII’s DDG 51 program over the past seven years and previously served as site and operations director at the Gulfport Composite Center of Excellence with a focus on LPD/DDG 1000 ship classes.
