TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 27, 2021 — The U.S. Coast Guard has tasked AT&T (NYSE: T) to consolidate its disparate data communications networks into a single, modernized platform and provide the service branch’s 1,200 locations with IP-based Wide Area Network, commercial satellite communication, virtual private networking services, ExecutiveBiz reported Dec. 7.
The company will work as part of a $161 million task order awarded by the Defense Information Systems Agency under the General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions acquisition vehicle.
Highlighting the importance of response time in support of Coast Guard’s critical services, Stacy Schwartz, vice president of AT&T’s FirstNet program, said “It’s vitally important they have a fast, reliable, and modernized data network to help ensure rapid flow of data to support their important work daily.”
