Verizon to Expand Air Force Base 5G Deployment; Jennifer Chronis Quoted

TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 4, 2021 — Verizon‘s public sector business will provide its 5G wireless network service to seven additional U.S. Air Force bases under the company’s Offer to Lease 2b contract from the Department of Defense, ExecutiveBiz reported Sept. 21.

The company said its new award follows the OTL 1a and 1b contracts it won in 2019 to modernize wireless communications at 10 USAF bases.

“Air Force leadership describes their modernization as a transition from an industrial-age force to an information-age force and Verizon Public Sector is their partner in that journey, providing a 5G network with the right technology solutions to meet their needs today, and into the future,” said Jennifer Chronis, senior vice president of Verizon Public Sector and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.
