Last Chance to Join POC's Climate Resilience for National Security Forum Today

Climate change is not just affecting the environment but also poses risks to the nation’s security and defense. As communities worldwide continue to deal with drought, flooding and other crises that could potentially result in interstate conflict, the extreme weather conditions also impair federal infrastructure and military readiness.

Join the Potomac Officers Club’s virtual event on Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. ET, to gain insight and perspective into the national security implications of climate change and how data analytics can inform agencies’ climate adaptation strategies.

Joseph Bryan, senior climate adviser at the Office of the Secretary of Defense; and Rod Schoonover, ecological security program head at the Council on Strategic Risks, will respectively deliver opening and closing keynote speeches during the “Bolstering Climate Resilience for National Security” forum.

Pat Tamburrino Jr., vice president of logistics at LMI, will moderate a panel discussion about climate-related analytics.

The panelists are LMI Principal Erwin Villger; Terence Thompson, chief science officer of The Climate Service; and Kathleen White, climate change program director at the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.
