8 Companies Win Spots on $950M NAVFAC Contract to Support Large Construction Projects in Mid-Atlantic Region

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command has selected eight companies to compete for large construction projects within NAVFAC’s mid-Atlantic area of operations through a five-year, $950 million contract vehicle.

The contractors can offer design-build and design-bid-build services to demolish, repair or modify facilities, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Facilities covered by the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract include industrial buildings, administrative offices, communications infrastructure, fire protection systems, hangars, warehouses, training ranges, dormitories, roads and medical clinics.

All projects will take place in Hampton Roads, Virginia, over a base period and four potential one-year options periods.

The full list of contractors is provided below:

  • Ameresco
  • Harkins
  • RQ Construction
  • Sauer
  • S.B. Ballard Construction Co.
  • Walsh
  • Whiting Turner Contracting Co.
  • WM Jordan

S.B. Ballard won the $51.6 million initial task order to build Naval Station Norfolk’s corrosion control and paint facility. NAVFAC expects the first project to be complete in March 2024.

NAVFAC will also obligate a $35,000 in minimum guarantee task orders to the other seven contractors.
