Firefly Aerospace has formed a business unit that will focus on producing rocket engines and other space vehicle components.
The Cedar Park, Texas-based company said Friday its new business will look to expand offerings to include parts from development partners in a push to help space industry customers acquire products a single source.
“Our goal with this line of business is to become the Tier 1 supplier of components to the New Space industry ,” said Thomas Markusic, CEO of Firefly Aerospace.
Firefly expects its spacecraft and launch vehicle divisions to be a core customer of the newly created unit and seeks to add external customers.
