Larry Melton, an independent member of the board of directors at Dewberry since September 2019, has been appointed as the board’s vice chair.
He will serve on the executive panel and help Barry Dewberry, the professional services firm’s executive chairman, to administer the responsibilities of the board to stakeholders, the company said Wednesday.
Melton held a two-decade career at Bechtel and most recently served as the contractor’s principal vice president. He led its work on the first phase of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail project in Northern Virginia, and the Edmonton Valley Line Light Rail Transit project in Alberta, Canada.
The former U.S. Marine Corps officer supported various missions in the Middle East, Asia and South America during his military service.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and a master’s degree in global management from the University of Phoenix.
