He will be responsible for implementing programs and supervising employees who support federal customers, TAPE said Thursday. The retired U.S. Navy captain will also serve as operations deputy to Ted Harrison, executive vice president and general manager of the Alexandria, Virginia-based government services contractor.
TAPE credited Wharton with leading the development of its cybersecurity platform and proposal to win the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Security Management, Compliance and Oversight contract.
He concurrently served as program manager for the company’s work in the ICE SMOC program and the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps initiative from 2013 to 2016.
Between 2017 and 2020, Wharton led KPMG’s defense and intelligence cyber sector. He most recently worked at Alamo City Engineering Services as executive vice president.
His military career included roles as executive officer for a U.S. Navy telecommunications facility in Bahrain and as deputy chief information officer for information assurance and enterprise architecture at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
