The Department of Energy has released a final request for proposals for a potential five-year, $100M contract to provide technical support services for the Carlsbad Field Office in New Mexico.
The Carlsbad Field Office Technical Assistance Contract will be a small business set-aside procurement effort covering support in the areas of engineering and technical reviews, project management, quality assurance, nuclear safety and oversight of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant site, DOE said Thursday.
The CTAC indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract also includes capital asset projects oversight, administrative and business operations, Central Characterization Program, transuranic waste certification, industrial hygiene and industrial safety, environmental compliance and scientific activities.
The Carlsbad Field Office manages and provides support for the WIPP and the National Transuranic Waste Program.
North Wind Portage is the incumbent on the current CTAC, which is set to expire on Dec. 3. The department plans to exercise an option to extend by up to six months the existing contract.
Questions and comments on the final RFP are due Nov. 23 and DOE will accept proposals through Dec. 14.
