BDO USA, a Chicago-based accounting and advisory firm, has agreed to buy the Washington, D.C.-based public sector practice of MorganFranklin Consulting for an undisclosed sum.
BDO USA saidTuesday it expects the deal to close on July 16, subject to customaryclosing conditions, and expand its public sector practice to Huntsville, Ala.
“MorganFranklin Consulting’s strongrelationships, distinguished reputation and proud service history in the publicsector have made them the top choice for federal and state and local governmentagencies,” said BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson. “Theirtrusted public sector leadership team and demonstrated quality and consistencyof work bolsters our practice and enhances our offerings for current and futureclients in the D.C. market and beyond.”
MorganFranklin’s public sectorpractice works with the departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs andLabor, the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and other defense and civilian agenciesand local and state government agencies.
The transaction marks BDO’s continuedexpansion in the Greater D.C. area. The company acquired Biegel Waller’s investmentand tax advisory services in January.
