Akima has appointed Richard Valentine, a three-decade IBM (NYSE: IBM) sales and capture veteran, as vice president of business development, G2Xchange ETC reported Tuesday.
He will work to expand Akimas operations in the federal market in his new role, to which he brings application development and program management experience.
After serving as service area leader at IBM for 19 years, Valentine became a capture executive at the companys federal civilian/health, homeland security, justice and foreign affairs division where he took part in strategic planning and technology deployment efforts. He later became the director of sales and capture at IBMs federal segment.
