Kellstrom Defense Buys Aircraft Parts Supplier ATI; Christopher Celtruda Quoted

Kellstrom Defense, an El Segundo, Calif.-based aircraft sustainment services provider to the military sector, has acquired Airborne Technologies Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

Camarillo, Calif.-based ATI will maintain its brand identity and current client interfaces and Kellstrom Defense said Friday it will merge ATI™s manufacturing capabilities with its engineered products operating segment and expects the combined entity to realize more than $230M in total sales for calendar year 2020.

ATI is a licensee under Lockheed Martin™s (NYSE: LMT) Hologram Product Program for C-130 B-H and F-16 aircraft and has capabilities in structural integration, metal forming and CNC machining. The company has manufactured proprietary tools in support of the production of defense aircraft parts and its current production includes wing leading edges, landing gear doors and other complex assemblies.

He added Kellstrom Defense will facilitate the integration of ATI as it works to expand its set of platforms for military aircraft sustainment.

Blue Torch Capital, Barings and PNC Mezzanine Capital helped Kellstrom complete the transaction for senior debt financing. Russ, August and Kabat and Wilkie, Farr and Gallagher served as Kellstrom™s legal advisers in the deal.
