Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) veterans Damon Saetre and Brian Fields have been promoted to new leadership roles at the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division as part of business transformation efforts.
HII said Thursday Saetre, most recently scheduling and capacity planning director for U.S. Navy projects, will serve as VP of integrated planning and production control.
The 27-year industry veteran succeeds Fields, who transitioned to the positions of chief transformation officer and VP for business transformation.
Saestre will manage supply chain and production planning operations to support Newport News Shipbilding’s Navy programs.
Fields joined the company as a test engineer in 1990 and will oversee the unit’s digital shipbuilding portfolio in his new capacity. He will also start to lead the information technology division beginning this fall as the company prepares for the retirement of Chief Information Officer Bharat Amin in early 2020.
